PAMELA STAKER
We welcome back Pamela Staker who
premiered with us in June 2008. Her new body of work has maintained its striking
contours and exquisite colorful gestures. Although, originally motivated
by the human figure, Staker’s colorful narratives have become increasingly
abstracted, compositions she refers to as “spatial environments”. She transfers
perceptions of places and things from her memory onto the canvas. As
a result, the vibrant tension between the planned and the accidental are
evident. Staker received a BFA in Painting from the University of
Illinois and currently lives and works in Chicago, Illinois.
